| Below is a list of decimal-fraction equivalents,
often called simply decimal equivalents.
This list covers the fractions most frequently
used in machining: 0 to 1 by 64ths. The numbers
themselves are unitless, but they are often
used in reference to inches. The numbers
are exact, although measurements made in
64ths usually do not have this degree of
precision (i.e., this number of significant
digits), and dimensions specified in 64ths
are usually not toleranced to this degree
of precision. The numbers after the thousandths
or ten-thousandths decimal place are usually
truncated or rounded for practical purposes. |
